Speed Dating is For You?

Speed dating, as its name suggests, is a fast, organized dating scheme, set up for making new friends or find that ideal romantic partner. Speed dating usually occurs as a party, where a selection of men and women, usually around 30, to meet and discuss for about 8 minutes before turning to the next person. Once all potential partners met another, they submit a list of people they would like to see again. The organizers then matches and those who have chosen each other are brought into contact.

Speed dating is based on the idea that first impressions are generally permanent impressions. In this context, speed dating organizers believe that 8 minutes is all one needs to determine if they make a good match or not. Speed dating parties are essentially formal twinning. Twinning parties have always been around social circles in one form or another.

Some say that speed dating is a shallow exercise that does not really allow people to know each other at a deeper level. For these people, the source of a good and long lasting relationship lies in the slow and patient awareness of another person. But for those who are involved dating, ease of speed dating parties put pressure trying to maintain a bad day. At a speed dating collection, there is no pressure to perform quickly past 8 minutes.

Whatever the advantages and disadvantages, speed dating is the latest folly of twinning. It's fun and totally safe. Speed dating parties are normally held in the elegant places where people can dress up, have fun and get to know each other in a warm and comfortable.
