Dating after divorce has no right or wrong answer. It's about you. Are you healed? Are you ready? Do you need more time to set your life in a direction that your marriage doesn't allow? It's time to find yourself, because a failed marriage allows you to lose who you are at every turn. Dating after a divorce, at least immediately, may not be the right answer if you find yourself searching for your soul. 
One of the fastest ways to heal after a divorce, instead of dwelling on the past, is to live absolutely and unconditionally in the present. It's time to consider family and friends. Things to be grateful for and do things you thought you couldn't do before. The past is gone, done. The future is being built now and will take care of itself if you take care of yourself.
If your overreaction to divorce is to go wild and go crazy on dates, you'll have lessons to learn and not all of it will be fun because you'll be adding more emotion to your already emotionally charged life. If you're dating after a divorce, take your time. Just relax. Organize your thoughts and emotions so that you have structured your life the way you want it and your vision of your future is clear.
